Yes but no

Apparently losing weight makes your FEET smaller...who knew?! I guess it stands to reason: pregnant women experience the opposite phenomenon. This explains why my shoes feel all weird, especially the summer/warm weather ones. I discovered that my rubber "loafers" for the rain, for example, have now turned into flip flops! Argh.

So tonight, after meeting a friend for drinks in Union Square, I ambled over to DSW, and started cruising the aisles. I found a pair of red Merrell slip-ons (like Keds)...in size SEVEN! Bear in mind that I normally wear size 7.5 or 8 so this left me rather bemused.

I also tried on some galoshes, but it seems that no matter how much weight I lose, my calves are still too big.

Then I wandered on upstairs to Filene's on the 4th floor, since that was where the building's restrooms were. Well they shrewdly put them on all the way in the far corner of the 5th floor, which forces you to walk through vast amounts of merchandise. That's where I found THESE fabulous rain boots.

Okay, I might blind passerby with its floral design, (click on the photo to blind yourselves and see the design in detail) but the boots are fun, no? Oh, and practical AND affordable ($25!)
as well as being a size SIX! Best of all, they have adjustable calves. Woohoo!

Hoping for rain tomorrow...
